CPR and Basic Life Support Certification Course

This course is for healthcare professionals who need to know how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of settings. It is an educational program jointly sponsored by the American Heart Association (AHA). There is an exam at the end of this course that you must successfully complete in order to become certified. You will learn:
  • adult and pediatric CPR;
  • two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag-valve mask;
  • foreign-body airway obstruction (conscious and unconscious);
  • automated external defibrillation (includes child AED update);
  • special resuscitation situations;
  • other cardiopulmonary emergencies; and
  • stroke and cardiac arrest.
You will learn how to be a prepared first responder, and receive an American Heart Association BLS Provider card, valid for 2 years, upon the successful completion of the course.
Basic Life Support/ CPR is required for New York State relicensure.
