Dentistry has a very low risk of disease transmission, however, the concept of infection control is considerably more important and has a greater impact today than in previous times. Evidence based studies and statistics verify this.

This course is a comprehensive update on the infection control issues, including:

  • dentistry's guidelines to swine/seasonal flu;
  • Hand hygiene
  • updated Guidelines on Post Exposure Management
  • want to know what your patients are thinking?
  • engineered sharps/safety devices
  • nitrous oxide
  • immunization series recommended for DHCW
  • training
  • dental aerosols
  • update OSHA compliance directives;
  • OSHA, CDC, State Boards of Dental Examiners; and
  • regulatory attention regarding engineered sharps/safety devices.

RESULTS: This course will bring you up to date on the issues that are getting the most attention in our professional journals and by our regulatory agencies today.

The New York State Legislature requires all licensed health care professionals to complete training in infection control every four years. This course, which is approved by the New York State Education Department, satisfies the requirement for mandatory infection control training.
