This is not another presentation of perfect cases.We all face challenges in implant dentistry.What are the most common problems associated with implant restorations? What can be done when poorly positioned implants interfere with an esthetic or functional result? How do you foresee difficulties and address them early on? Common pitfalls are presented, along with examples of the occasional disaster. Actual cases illustrate how to make the best of a bad situation, as well as techniques to make treatment outcomes more predictable.
Topics discussed in this lecture include:
• anticipating problems before starting the case;
• the most common pitfalls: what causes them and how to solve them;
• esthetic problems;
• poor implant angulation / position;
• selecting the appropriate type of implant prosthesis to fill challenging situations;
• mechanical problems: screw loosening, implant fracture; and
• speech difficulties.
RESULTS: This course will give you specific techniques and strategies to solve many of the common
implant problems that arise in daily practice.
