Membership Requirements
Membership is tripartite. That is, when joining the NYCDS, a dentist must join the American Dental Association, and New York State Dental Association.  Both feature unique national and state member benefits.  There are several categories of membership:

  • Active NYCDS members must practice at least 50% of their time in Manhattan.

  • Student members, those in dental school or in a post-graduate program, must reside or attend school in Manhattan. Tripartite membership is not required of students.

  • Associate members who belong to another component society may join NYCDS to avail themselves of benefits and discounts.

  • Nonrenewing members who wish to rejoin must complete a reinstatement application.

  • Current tripartite members moving to Manhattan must obtain permission to transfer their membership.  NYCDS will facilitate this process.
