Give Kids a Smile NYCDS 2026 Recap!
On February 6, 2026, we proudly hosted our annual Give Kids A Smile (GKAS) NYCDS event in East Harlem. Since 2014, GKAS NYCDS has helped keep kids' smiles bright and heathy, and this year marked our 13th celebration of that mission. More than 185 volunteers provided care to over 1,200 students from 11 participating East Harlem schools, which represents nearly a 20% increase in participation from 2025. Many other children also received classroom education on oral health and took home goodie bags filled with toothpaste, toothbrushes, and helpful dental care tips.

Give Kids A Smile NYCDS 2025 Recap!
On Friday, February 7, 2025, the New York County Dental Society hosted its annual Give Kids A Smile NYCDS event, a tradition since 2014. Held in East Harlem, the event aims to raise awareness of the importance of good oral health within the community, instill good oral hygiene habits and detect children in need of follow-up care and connect them to a dental home. Over 200 volunteers participated in the event which offered clinical exams, preventive fluoride treatment and oral health/nutrition education to more than 1,000 children from 10 local schools.
