The ADA is lobbied Congress and the administration to protect dental patients and staff who are providing urgent and emergency care during the COVID-19 pandemic. January JADA looks at changes in opioid prescribing by dentists

Prescriptions dropped by 34.4% from 2015-19
Although most dentists have decreased their opioid prescribing, a small percentage still consistently prescribes at high rates, according to a study published in the January issue of The Journal of the American Dental Association.
