GAO Issues Report on Health Care for People with Disabilities
The United States Government Accountability Office (GAO) has issued a report on health care for people with disabilities. GAO found that most health care providers would benefit from more training on meeting the needs of people with disabilities—even though such training isn't widely required—and experts suggested incorporating more disability content in clinical training, engaging the disability community in training development, and taking other actions.
