Many state and local governments have established offices of equity to prioritize equity in government policies and procedures. This resource provides a survey of states, cities, and counties across the country that have established such offices and includes information on their structure, activities, and authority.
The (Un?)intended Consequences of COVID-19-Era Judicial Decisions and New Public Health-Related Laws
This article, co-authored by the Network and fellow Act for Public Health partners and published in Health Affairs Forefront, discusses the impact of the new, and less friendly, legal environment on public health decision-making. It provides an overview of the COVID-19-driven legislative and judicial backlash on the legal powers of public health officials and highlights two examples from Ohio and Michigan in which the impacts have already been felt.
