GAO Issues Report on VA EHR Implementation

The United States Government Accountability Office (GAO) has issued a report on the Veterans' Administration (VA) implementation of a new electronic health record (EHR) system.  GAO found that the VA has not updated cost estimates after pausing EHR implementation, has not evaluated the changes it made during that time, and has not updated the rollout schedule.  GAO also found that without doing these things, the VA may not be able to properly budget or know if the rollout is progressing as it should.  To read the GAO report on VA EHR implementation, use the first link below.  To read GAO highlights of the report on VA EHR implementation, use the second link below.
