NYSDOH Ending Electronic Prescribing Blanket Waiver
The New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) has announced that it will end its blanket electronic prescribing waiver on March 24, 2026. The blanket electronic prescribing waiver had been issued to cover items like prescriptions with lengthy, complex instructions on how to take a medication and other such electronic prescribing software accommodation and compatibility issues. Those blanket waivers are now ending. Note that the December 23, 2024, blanket waiver for nursing home and residential health care facility settings is not ending (see NYSDA blog post from December 29, 2024).
